Gpass

GPass is an outdated software that was used to encrypt your online data, hide your IP address, and sidestep content filtering and monitoring using a number of secure channels to connect to the Internet and break through the Internet blockade. GPass supported the online applications that you use the most, including Web browsers (e.g. Firefox), multimedia players, email, instant messengers, download managers, and so on.

Important: GPass is no longer available for download from the original website and is no longer supported.

Tip: In order to protect your online privacy and anonymity you should check other VPN or Proxy providers.

Gpass Download

Gpass is no longer available for download from the original site and it does no longer work.

However, you may still download it from third-party shareware sites like:

How Does Gpass Work?

Gpass is an easy to use Windows application that can be used to hide your visible IP address. It does not require the installation of add-ons nor extra configurations in our web browsers.

From within the application, you can configure individual applications to work with the tunnels created by GPass. Thus, if you are using the tunnel to access sites that restrict your IP, you can simply tell GPass to enable a tunnel for your default web browser.

GPass does not install anything on your computer, it is a portable app. You can pair it with a portable version of Firefox to create an ultimate privacy tool.

Hide IP

Hiding your IP address means using a software or a hardware solution that masks your public IP address and routes your Internet traffic through a remote computer called server.

There are several technologies that are able to mask/change/hide your IP address. The most common are VPN and proxy.

The basic idea of a VPN is to create an encrypted tunnel between your device or computer and a VPN server located anywhere in the World. When connected to a VPN, the device gets the IP address of the VPN server. Thus, the real IP address is hidden.

A proxy works on the same principle as a VPN, but it can only be setup for certain applications (browser, downloaders) and it does not provide data encryption.

Check IP

In order to check your visible IP address you need to visit an IP checker site. Such a website shows your public IP address and additional info regarding the location (city, state, country), the ISP and the organisation the IP address belongs to.

What Is a Proxy or Proxy Server

A proxy or proxy server is a computer which serves as a tunnel through which internet requests are processed. By connecting through such a server, your computer sends your requests to the proxy server which then processes your request and returns what you were wanting.

In this way it serves as an intermediary between your computer and the rest of the computers on the Internet. Basically, it hides your public/visible IP address and shows the IP of the proxy server as the source of the your web requests.
